The Broncos' 14 opponents on their 17-game 2023 schedule won 51.7 percent of their regular-season games in 2022.

According to Boston Herald sports columnist Bill Speros, the Broncos are expected to travel a total of 19,930 miles during the 2023 season. That total ranks 14th-most in the NFL.

The Broncos will face several of the league's top wide receivers, as seven of the players who finished in the NFL's top 10 in receiving yards in 2022 are on the schedule. They are: Minnesota's Justin Jefferson (No. 1 in '22 - Week 11), Miami's Tyreek Hill (No. 2 - Week 3), Las Vegas' Davante Adams (No. 3 - Weeks 1 and 18), Buffalo's Stefon Diggs (No. 5 - Week 10), Miami's Jaylen Waddle (No. 7 - Week 3), Kansas City's Travis Kelce (No. 8 - Weeks 6 and 8), Washington's Terry McLaurin (No. 10 - Week 4).

Denver's seven games against teams coming off playoff appearances are: two vs. the Chiefs (Weeks 6 and 8), two vs. the Chargers (Weeks 14 and 17), one vs. the Dolphins (Week 3), one vs. the Bills (Week 10) and one vs. the Vikings (Week 11).

The Broncos will face several of the league's top rushers, as five of the players who finished in the NFL's top 10 in rushing yards in 2022 are on the schedule. They are: Las Vegas' Josh Jacobs (No. 1 in '22 - Weeks 1 and 18), Cleveland's Nick Chubb (No. 3 - Week 12), Minnesota's Dalvin Cook (No. 6 - Week 11), Chicago's Justin Fields (No. 7 - Week 4) and Green Bay's Aaron Jones (No. 10 - Week 7).

The Broncos are expected face off nine times vs. quarterbacks who have made the Pro Bowl during their careers: twice vs. the Chargers' Justin Herbert (pictured), twice vs. the Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, once vs. the Jets' Aaron Rodgers, once vs. the Bills' Josh Allen, once vs. the Vikings' Kirk Cousins, once vs. the Browns' Deshaun Watson and once vs. the Lions' Jared Goff.

The Broncos will be away from the friendly confines of Empower Field at Mile High for nearly a month, as the team plays the Texans, Chargers and Lions on the road in Weeks 13-15. Denver has not played three consecutive road games since 2017.

Of the 10 players who threw for the most yardage in 2022, five appear on the Broncos' 2023 schedule (including divisional opponents Denver will play twice). They are: Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes (No. 1 in 2022 - Weeks 6 and 8), the Chargers' Justin Herbert (no. 2 - Weeks 14 and 17), Minnesota's Kirk Cousins (No. 4 - Week 11), Detroit's Jared Goff (No. 6 - Week 15) and Buffalo's Josh Allen (No. 7 - Week 10).

The Broncos will open the season at home against the Raiders (Sept. 10) and then return to Empower Field at Mile High for Week 2 as the Commanders come to town (Sept. 17). The Broncos most recently played two consecutive home games to open the season in 2018, when they defeated the Seahawks and Raiders.

The Broncos are slated to play in prime-time broadcast slots four times in the 2023 season: Week 6 at the Chiefs on "Thursday Night Football," Week 10 at the Bills on "Monday Night Football," Week 11 vs. the Vikings on "Sunday Night Football" and Week 16 vs. the Patriots on NFL Network.
