AFC West Roundup: Week 11

The Oakland Raiders played Monday in Mexico City, but the raucous crowd (and illegal laser pointers) were firmly behind the Raiders as they beat the Texans, 27-20. Brock Osweiler and the Texans were unable to hold onto a fourth-quarter lead and failed to convert several late fourth down attempts as Oakland stormed back. Two deep touchdowns in the fourth quarter via Derek Carr were enough to propel Oakland to 8-2 and assure at least one more week of first place in the division. Up next: vs. Carolina

It was over when: the Texans failed to convert a fourth-and-1 with 6:18 to go in the fourth quarter. The Texans appeared to have made the spot to gain, but even after the play was reviewed, the referees awarded the ball to Oakland. Carr would connect with Cooper five plays later to take a lead the Raiders would not relinquish.

Player of the game: Derek Carr continued to shine with a three-touchdown, 295-yard performance. He found Jamie Olawale and Amari Cooper for two long touchdowns in the fourth quarter that made the difference.

A series of streaks was broken Sunday in Kansas City as the Buccaneers escaped with a 19-17 win. The Chiefs lost both a five-game win streak and dropped a 10-game home win streak at Arrowhead. Quarterback Alex Smith did his best to help the Chiefs claw back into the game, but an interception in the red zone and the defense's inability to make a stop proved fatal. With the loss, the Chiefs fell to 7-3 and into a precarious position in the AFC West with a road game against Denver on its way.Up next: at Denver

It was over when: Alex Smith threw a fourth-quarter interception into the Tampa Bay end zone as the Chiefs threatened to take the lead with 12:20 to go in the game. With his team down 12-10, Kansas City seemed poised to take the lead, but Chris Conte undercut the pass and returned it 53 yards to the Tampa Bay 48. The Bucs would score a touchdown on the ensuing drive to push the lead to nine, and while the Chiefs scored a touchdown, they would not get the ball back with enough time to make any serious threat at the end zone. For all intents and purposes, the Chiefs' chances at a win died in the 13 seconds between the snap and Conte being pushed out of bounds.

Player of the game: TE Travis Kelce The Chiefs struggled on both sides of the ball and turned in few inspiring performances, but Travis Kelce was a bright spot. The veteran tight end finished with seven catches for 108 yards, including a long reception of 44 yards.
