ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Von Miller went to a local movie theater to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Tuesday night. He left exhausted and feeling a bit like Luke Skywalker when he retched after trying some of Yoda's stew on Dagobah.
Some bad mozzarella sticks at the theater left Miller felling ill, and forced him to go home early Wednesday and miss practice. He was back at the UCHealth Training Center on Thursday none the worse for the wear, but rethinking his snack choices.
"Mozzarella sticks -- you can't put just regular gas in a Ferrari," Miller said.
"Just the fried cheese and the ICEE at the movies. I was contemplating -- it did me bad. I learned my lesson."
Last offseason, Miller was raving about his diet, which emphasized lean meats, fruits, vegetables and gallons of water.
After his bout of gastrointestinal discomfort, he's back on course.
"The force struck back," he said.
"I told him I don't know what kind of cheese was in those mozzarella sticks, [but] please don't eat those again," said OLB DeMarcus Ware. "I thought [DE] Malik [Jackson] ate some too because he was a little bit sick yesterday, also.
"I believe those guys flushed the mozzarella sticks out. I told them to just stick with the popcorn and the little goobers at the movies."
