Could the Broncos be in position to get the best cornerback in the draft?
That's what NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah forecasts in his most recent mock draft. With four quarterbacks taken in the first eight picks, there is a plethora of defensive talent still available when the Broncos pick in Jeremiah's prediction, including top cornerback prospects Caleb Farley and Patrick Surtain II.
Given the choice, Jeremiah picks Farley for the Broncos.
"The Broncos recently released CB A.J. Bouye, so there's a glaring need at the position," Jeremiah writes. "Farley is the best cornerback in the draft."
Based on Jeremiah's ranking of the top 50 prospects, the Broncos' would be getting the fifth-best player in the draft.
"He shows exceptional burst when he does drive on the ball," Jeremiah wrote in his ranking. "The redshirt junior has plenty of speed to carry vertical routes. He can find and play the ball down the field. He's aggressive to fill versus the run, but he will fall off a few tackles. Overall, Farley has all of the ingredients to be a No. 1 cornerback at the next level.
