Manning Named No. 1 on 'NFL Top 100'

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – *On Wednesday night quarterback Peyton Manning capped off the NFL Network's *The Top 100 Players of 2014, being named the top player in the NFL by his peers.

This is Manning's fourth consecutive year on the list. He was named the No. 2 player in both 2011 and 2013 and No. 50 in 2012.

During the 2013 season, Manning set Broncos single-season records in completions, attempts, passing yards, touchdown passes, and quarterback rating. He also set NFL single-season records in passing yards (5,477) and touchdown passes (55).

Last season he completed 450-of-659 passes and had a passer rating of 115.1, earning him an NFL-record fifth MVP Award and his 13th Pro Bowl selection. He spearheaded one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history, which scored a league-record 606 points as Manning led the Broncos to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1999.

Manning is the eighth Bronco to be named to The Top 100 Players of 2014. His teammates on the list include: wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (No. 49), defensive end DeMarcus Ware (No. 56), wide receiver Wes Welker (No. 73), linebacker Von Miller (No. 76), cornerback Aqib Talib (No. 79), safety T.J. Ward (No. 82) and guard Louis Vasquez (No. 97).
