LB Steven Johnson to return to Broncos

**

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. —**Linebacker Steven Johnson has agreed to terms with the Broncos on a one-year contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

Johnson made his first career starts this season at middle linebacker when the Broncos looked to their depth to step up after injuries to their linebacking corps. He played in 14 games this past season, starting in half of them, and recorded 22 combined tackles on defense with a half-sack, and eight tackles on special teams, with a fumble recovery.

As the Broncos move to a 3-4 defense in the coming season, Johnson will compete for playing time as one of the interior linebackers.
