ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Two newcomers and two players released by the Broncos at Saturday's cut to the league-mandated 53-man roster limit will fill out the 10-man practice squad as the regular season begins.

Running back Kapri Bibbs, tight end Arthur Lynch, offensive tackle Kyle Roberts and defensive end George Uko will get to work Monday. Their signings have potential significance; last year's practice squad saw 22 players play on it, including 10 who spent time on the Broncos' 53-man roster at some point.

The Broncos' two Sunday waiver claims, tight end Mitchell Henry and center James Ferentz, also reported and passed their physicals Monday morning. Henry was issued jersey No. 84; Ferentz will wear No. 53, which he wore at Iowa.

Let's take a closer look at the players rounding out the practice squad:

RB KAPRI BIBBS** No. 35 - 5-11 - 203 - Colorado State
The zone-blocking-based scheme used on the offensive line agrees with Bibbs, who worked behind an offensive line that used similar techniques at Colorado State.

Bibbs had little chance to show his skills during preseason games this year; he was limited to 27 yards on six carries -- all of which came in the preseason finale last Thursday.

In the wake of the waiving of Montee Ball on Sunday, Bibbs is essentially the Broncos' No. 4 running back. The natural attrition at the position means that Bibbs has a decent shot of being called up to the 53-man roster, where he spent a month last year. Including Bibbs, eight of the last 15 running backs on the practice squad (going back to 2005) also saw some time on the 53-man roster.

TE ARTHUR LYNCH
No. 83 - 6-5 - 258 - Georgia
A fifth-round pick of the Dolphins last year, the 2013 first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection had his rookie year torn asunder by a back injury that landed him on injured reserve before the season began. Miami waived him Aug. 18, and the Jets claimed him off waivers before waiving him again Saturday.

The 25-year-old Lynch took a redshirt year in 2010 after playing 11 games as a true freshman, and after seeing limited work in 2011, grabbed 54 passes for 890 yards and eight touchdowns in his junior and senior years. Lynch was also a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection (2010 and 2013) and was one of the most fundamentally sound blocking tight ends in his draft class.

OT KYLE ROBERTS
No. 66 - 6-6 - 305 - Nevada
It is essential for a practice squad to have prospects with upside that can be nurtured and polished with daily on-field work. But above all, it is a practice squad, and the Broncos needed another tackle to pair with Michael Schofield so they could go two-deep during their daily work. Roberts fits both categories.

Roberts started at right tackle last Thursday against the Cardinals and played every snap, along with Schofield and guard Shelley Smith.

DE GEORGE UKO
No. 99 - 6-3 - 284 - Southern California
Uko will attempt to make the transition from a 4-3 tackle role in the Buccaneers' defense last year and this offseason to a 3-4 3-technique defensive end. He spent two stints on the Bucs' practice squad last year and played one game after a Dec. 16, 2014 promotion to the 53-man roster.

The versatile lineman played end and tackle at USC; 14 of his starts were at end, while 15 came at tackle.
