In the first start of his career, Williams carried the ball 23 times for 102 yards and caught six passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. He is the first Broncos rookie to ever post more than 100 rushing yards and 75 receiving yards in the same game.

Williams previously won Rookie of the Week honors after rushing for 111 yards vs. the Cowboys in Week 9, and he was nominated after he posted 111 total yards vs. the Chargers in Week 12. Williams has now gone over 100 total yards in three of his last four games.

The second-round pick's total yardage against the Chiefs was the most by any rookie running back this season, and he had the third-highest single-game total of any rookie this year.

No Broncos rookie since Clinton Portis in 2002 (246 yards vs. Arizona) has posted as many yards as Williams did against Kansas City.

Williams ranks third among rookies in rushing yards in 2021, and his 4.79 yards per carry is first among rookie running backs who have at least 200 yards.

The Broncos' rookie rusher will compete against Jets QB Zach Wilson, Steelers RB Najee Harris, Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Raiders CB Nate Hobbs and Dolphins OLB Jaelan Phillips for the award.
