ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Peyton Manning has a new pupil. In the seventh and final round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Broncos selected Miami University quarterback Zac Dysert.
Joining a playoff team with a Hall-of-Fame quarterback, Dysert said it's the perfect situation for him to be in.
"I don't think there could be any better spot, especially to learn under, besides Peyton," he said. "He's always been somebody I've looked up to, just because of the way he has always played and the way he prepares and things like that. So, I'm ecstatic at this opportunity. I wouldn't rather be any other place."
Dysert visited with the club prior to the draft, as he met with the Broncos staff and the group watched film together. He called it "an awesome experience" at Dove Valley.
Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway tweeted after making the pick: "Thrilled that Zac Dysert from Miami of Ohio was available for us to take. You can never have enough QBs. Talented player & competitor."
