DENVER — The Broncos found a way.

In a roller coaster of a game defined by big plays on both sides, the Broncos came up with a late pick six and ensuing clinching interception to earn a 41-32 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Denver twice led by double-digits in this "Monday Night Football" classic, but the Browns battled back and took a 32-31 lead with 8:57 to play in the game.

After Denver was held short of the end zone on the ensuing drive, the Broncos kicked a field goal to re-take a 34-32 lead. Denver, though, needed one final stop from its defense to halt a monstrous performance from Jameis Winston.

And despite giving up a slew of yards throughout the game, the unit delivered when it mattered most.

With the game on the line, Ja'Quan McMillian delivered the highlight play — and with it, Denver's eighth win.

The Broncos now hold an 8-5 mark and stand at least two games clear of the next closest challenger in the AFC playoff race.

As the Broncos head into their bye week, these were the players and plays that made the difference:

GAME-CHANGING MOMENT

The Browns' win probability rarely crossed over 50 percent during Monday's matchup, but it did move in Cleveland's direction during a critical moment. After Jameis Winston found Elijah Moore for a third-and-12 conversion at the two-minute warning, Cleveland's win probability jumped to 53.1 percent, according to ESPN.

Holding a first-and-10 at their own 42-yard line, the Browns only needed 20 yards to move themselves to the edge of field-goal range — and any additional yardage would've made that field goal less difficult.

As the Broncos lined up for the ensuing play — already having given up nearly 500 yards — Denver's chances of earning a win were far from certain.

But cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian ended the uncertainty, as he undercut another pass for Moore, got up off his back and raced for a clinching 44-yard pick six. After the play, the Broncos held a two-possession lead with less than two minutes remaining and saw their win probability skyrocket to 99.6 percent.

In a back-and-forth game, it was fitting that the game-changing moment didn't come until the final moments.

DEFINING STATISTIC

3.

Cleveland wide receiver Jerry Jeudy posted the most receiving yards by a player against the Broncos in team history, while quarterback Jameis Winston posted the second-most passing yards the Broncos have allowed.

Denver's defense, though, made a slew of big plays despite the yardage totals the group allowed.

Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto recorded a pick six near the end of the first half, and then McMillian sealed the game with another. With the Browns pushing down the field one last time, inside linebacker Cody Barton picked Winston off in the end zone.

The final two interceptions — both of which came in the final two minutes of the game — gave the Broncos the edge in the turnover battle and helped Denver improve to 8-1 in games in which its defense earns a takeaway.

MEMORABLE HIGHLIGHT

On third-and-11 from the Denver 7-yard line, Nix dropped back and found wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. in stride nearly 45 yards down the field. Mims was off to the races for the fourth-longest receiving touchdown in franchise history. There were plenty of big plays on Monday night, but Mims' — which ended with him leaping into the crowd — electrified Empower Field at Mile High.

BOX-SCORE STANDOUTS

Nik Bonitto gave the Broncos a double-digit lead in the first half as he posted a 71-yard pick six. Bonitto is one of just two players in the last 20 years to have double-digit sacks and a pick six of at least 70 yards in a season. Bonitto later added another sack to boost his season total to 11.

Marvin Mims Jr. posted the second 100-yard game of his career as he raced for a 93-yard touchdown. Nix's pass to Mims was the Broncos' longest scoring pass since 2008, when Jay Cutler hit Eddie Royal for a 93-yard score in a win, coincidentally, over the Browns.

Ja'Quan McMillian recorded the Broncos' second pick six of the game in the final minutes as Denver led by just two points. With Winston and the Browns' offense needing just a field goal, McMillian's interception gave the Broncos the two-score lead they needed.

Courtland Sutton posted his third 100-yard game in his last six games.

[Editor's Note: The official statistics initially credited Bonitto with a half sack in the fourth quarter. The article has been updated to reflect the change in the statistical credit.]
