ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Cornerback Tramaine Brock could return to practice this week, but he likely will not play Saturday against Minnesota, Head Coach Vance Joseph said.

"If he does [practice], he probably won't play in the game, to be honest," Joseph said Tuesday. "It's a hamstring. He's getting better fast, but just being smart for the long run, he probably won't go on Saturday."

Joseph said on July 31 that Brock would miss about a week.

UPDATE [4:43 p.m. MT]: Defensive end Clinton McDonald missed walkthrough with a shoulder injury, Head Coach Vance Joseph said Tuesday afternoon.

Other Tuesday injury news:

  • Joseph reiterated his hope that tight end Jeff Heuerman would return this week after missing the last week of practice.

"He's doing well. He's progressing," Joseph said.

  • Troy Fumagalli missed Tuesday's practice with a slight groin strain.

"We're just being smart with him," Joseph said. "He was really sore the last couple days, so we gave him a day to get better."

  • Safety Su'a Cravens again missed practice with knee soreness.
  • Linebacker Joe Jones also did not practice.
