ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --On Saturday, an original Bronco passed away. Chuck Gavin, who played defensive end on the inaugural 1960 Broncos team, died at age 78.
Gavin spent 1960-63 as a member of the Broncos, most notably scoring a touchdown in the 1961 season and grabbing an interception in the 1962 campaign.
"We just went out there and did our job," Gavin told The Denver Post in 2009. "We were all just ballplayers."
Gavin was a member of the board of directors of the Denver Broncos Alumni Association.
