ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --The Broncos made waived punter Will Johnson and safety Ryan Murphy on Monday.

Both signed reserve-future contracts earlier this year and were at positions the Broncos targeted in this weekend's NFL Draft. The Broncos selected Syracuse punter Riley Dixon in the seventh round and added a pair of safeties -- Boston College's Justin Simmons and Arizona's Will Parks -- in the third and sixth rounds.

Murphy, an Oregon State product, spent the entire 2015 season on the practice squad, after being waived by the Seahawks at the 53-man roster deadline.

Johnson was out of football after being waived by the Houston Texans on Sept. 2. The Texas State product also had in-season tryouts with the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots.
