ENGLEWOOD, Colo. –While Von Miller won't be on the field for the first six weeks of the regular season, he will still be around the team working out and attending meetings with his teammates.

Those familiar surroundings and friendly faces will help Miller get through the suspension and get his focus back to where it should be.

"It'll be good for him to be around," Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway said. "Plus he gets to stay close to the game, stay close to his teammates. That's going to be important that he has their support. I know nobody feels worse about this than Von, so for us (it's being) able to keep our arms around him and be there for him and help him through this process."

During his suspension, which takes effect Aug. 31, Miller can still attend workouts and meetings at the team's Dove Valley facility, but he cannot practice with the club.

"Everybody makes mistakes," Head Coach John Fox said. "In those areas, we have great resources. We'll do everything we can to help him the best we can. It's like any family member whether it's an illness or some kind of crises, your family is there for you and we are no different."

While at the team's headquarters during his suspension, Miller will have access to a support system of teammates and the club will do its best to help him through the process. "Whatever we have to do as an organization to try to help Von, we want to be able to do," Elway said. "It's time that if we can help him take that next step in the maturation process, we want to do that. We'll take it one step at a time and the first step now is to make sure that we're getting Von the help that he needs to get."
