At Colorado, Bradford was a four-time letterwinner as he and the Buffs earned a 39-7-3 record during his tenure from 1989-92. In addition to three Big Eight titles during that span, the Buffs won the national championship in 1990 — and Bradford had a big hand in the achievement.

Denver's longest stretch of open practices comes after the opening weekend, as the Broncos will hold open practices on six consecutive days from Monday, July 29 to Saturday, Aug. 3.

Denver's biggest free-agent signing may have been acquiring former Dolphins safety Brandon Jones, an ascending player with potential to play both near the line of scrimmage and in the deep part of the field.

The Broncos have announced three key dates for their 2024 Training Camp powered by Ford, and the remaining dates for Denver's 16 free open practices will be announced on Wednesday.

Jonathon Cooper enjoyed a breakout season in 2023, as the former seventh-round pick started all 17 games for Denver and recorded a career-high 8.5 sacks.

"I felt like myself," Patrick says in mid-June after the pair of minicamp practices. "I felt twitchy. I felt like I was running [full speed]. Honestly, I think I'm right there where I was three years ago, right now."

The Broncos have added one of the top college football coaches of his era to their front office.

"I think we'll see a lot more of that [physicality] when we're in pads," Head Coach Sean Payton said. "... He's a powerful player."

Smith participated in the Broncos' mandatory minicamp as a tryout player.

"Obviously, Pat [Surtain II] is one of the best corners in football, so if you're playing opposite of Pat, you're going to get most of the targets," Defensive Coordinator Vance Joseph said Wednesday. "That's part of it."

"I'd say the competition kind of sharpens things," Head Coach Sean Payton said. "We have it at a lot of spots. It was different. It felt different this year in a good way."
