ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos' top draft pick has put pen to paper.

Quarterback Bo Nix signed his four-year rookie contract on Friday, the team announced.

As a first-round pick, Nix will also have a fifth-year option on his contract that the Broncos can exercise.

Denver selected Nix with the 12th-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, making him the fifth quarterback selected in the first round in franchise history.

The 2023 Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year and a Heisman Trophy finalist, Nix completed an NCAA-record 77.4 percent of his passes as he threw for 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns and three interceptions during his final season at Oregon.

In two seasons with the Ducks, Nix accounted for 95 total touchdowns in 27 games.

"I don't want to just be a draft pick," Nix said at his introductory press conference. "I want to be able to show my improvements and show that I can do what [they] picked me to do, and that's to go out there and help win games [and] do whatever I can to put his team in a better situation."

Nix is the fifth member of the Broncos' seven-player draft class to sign his rookie deal. Only third-round pick Jonah Elliss and fourth-round pick Troy Franklin have yet to sign.
