ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have begun to move toward the mandated 53-player roster limit.

Denver officially made eight roster moves on Monday ahead of Tuesday's deadline, the team announced.

The Broncos released defensive lineman Angelo Blackson, wide receiver Phillip Dorsett and inside linebacker Andre Smith. Denver waived safety Omar Brown, cornerback Art Green, defensive back Kaleb Hayes, offensive lineman Oliver Jervis and inside linebacker Alec Mock.

Denver's active roster now sits at 83 players, including linebacker Drew Sanders and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell. Both players count toward the current 90-player limit while on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list.

The Broncos' roster was previously at 91 players, as tight end Thomas Yassmin was previously designated as Denver's international player exemption and does not count toward the 90-player limit.

The league-mandated roster deadline is set for 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
