Broncos Injury Report: Paxton Lynch splits reps, limited for second straight day

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Quarterbacks Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler split repetitions for a second consecutive day as the Broncos went inside the Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse for Thursday's practice.

Lynch continues to make progress, but given his high-ankle injury and the style of his play, Head Coach Vance Joseph wants to make sure he has enough mobility to be effective before he makes a decision as to which of the quarterbacks will start Sunday in Washington.

"Our goal is to see him play before the year is out. We've got two more games to do that," Joseph said. "My concern is making sure he's healthy enough to play at a high level. He's got an ankle injury. He hasn't practiced in three weeks.

"He's a quarterback that can use his legs when he's in danger, so I want to make sure that he's right."

Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders did not practice as as he continues to deal with an ankle injury that he suffered in the Week 6 loss to the New York Giants. He returned in Week 9 at Philadelphia and has not missed any games since then.

"He's really sore still," Joseph said. "He's fought all year for us. ... It should have been a four-week injury; he came back in two weeks for us. He's been gutting it out for us the last month and a half."

Nose tackle Domata Peko Sr. also did not practice Thursday; he was given a rest day.
