DENVER –Several Broncos fans won a chance to screen the movie Draft Day a few days before it becomes available to the general public in theaters across the country.
The lucky fans were season-ticket holders who entered a contest for tickets to the private screening. All season-ticket accounts were eligible to enter the contest, which consisted of three draft-related trivia questions.
Approximately 500 fans attended the showing at United Artists Colorado Center Stadium Theater on Tuesday evening.
The movie did not get off to a good start with the crowd as it opened in the Seattle Seahawks' facility with the Seahawks trading the No. 1 overall draft pick to Cleveland. The sight of the Seahawks' stadium and fictional front office at work drew a smattering of light-hearted boos from the audience.
Fans got their chance to applaud later in the movie, responding with resounding cheers when Executive Vice President of Football Operations/General Manager John Elway and quarterback Peyton Manning made on-screen appearances in historic NFL highlights.
Safety T.J. Ward, who played for the Browns last season, makes a brief cameo at the end of the film. He attended a screening of the movie on Monday and posted the below picture to his Instagram account:
The movie focuses on a fictional Cleveland Browns general manager and his preparations for using the team's No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft. Starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner, the film hits theaters Friday, April 11.
