ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have added to their defensive backfield.
Denver claimed defensive back Kaleb Hayes off waivers from the Giants, the team announced Monday.
The Broncos waived rookie inside linebacker Alec Mock in a corresponding move.
Hayes entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and competed with the Jaguars during the offseason. He then spent the 2023 season on the Giants' practice squad.
The 6-foot, 195-pound player finished his collegiate career at BYU, where he started 20 games and recorded 19 pass breakups over his final two seasons. He previously played at Oregon State before joining BYU.
Mock, who recently rejoined the team, played 12 snaps in the Broncos' preseason opener.
