SEATTLE --The Broncos claimed punter Spencer Lanning off waivers Friday, giving them two punters for the first time since the team waived Karl Schmitz on Aug. 6.
Lanning was waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday after signing with them in June. He joined the Bucs after being released by the Cleveland Browns following their June 7 trade for 49ers punter Andy Lee.
Lanning punted for the Browns the last two seasons. He ranked 17th in the league last year in net punting average (39.2 yards).
