- SERIES STREAK: Denver has won three of the last four.
- LAST TIME: Titans 17, Broncos 14; Sept. 25, 2011. A winnable game slipped away late after Willis McGahee was stopped on fourth-and-goal at the 1-yard-line 1:23 into the fourth quarter, and a Kyle Orton pass was intercepted by Titans linebacker Will Witherspoon with 1:39 remaining, ending a potential game-tying drive. In between, the Titans marched 95 yards to a 4-yard Matt Hasselbeck-to-Daniel Graham touchdown pass with 4:24 left that proved to be the game-winner.
- LAST TIME IN DENVER: Broncos 34, Titans 20; Nov. 19, 2007. Glenn Martinez's 80-yard punt return put the Broncos in front 14-0 and gave them the breathing room they needed to cruise to a win on Monday Night Football. The Broncos thrived on big plays: all four of their touchdowns covered at least 30 yards, including a 62-yard scamper by Andre Hall with 12:48 remaining that provided the final margin. The win brought the Broncos back to .500 for the first time in four weeks, but they slipped below break-even for good six days later at Chicago en route to a 7-9 finish.
NOTING THE GAME:
- Manning faced the Titans twice a year from 2002-2010, after realignment lumped the Colts and Titans together in the AFC South. His teams have won five consecutive games against Tennessee dating back to Dec. 28, 2008. Manning has posted at least a 95.6 quarterback rating in that five-game winning streak.
- Manning's quarterback rating against the Titans has exceeded 100.0 in nine of 18 regular-season starts against them -- all of which the Colts won. Including the playoff loss on Jan. 16, 2000, the Colts went 9-0 when he had a rating above 100.0, 4-3 with a rating between 80.0 and 100.0 and 0-3 with a rating below 80.0.
- In his regular-season starts against Tennessee, Manning's touchdown-to-interception ratio is 31-12.
- The Titans/Oilers' only win at Denver in the last 30 years came in 1987 during the players' strike, when the replacement Oilers throttled the fill-in Broncos, 40-10. Aside from that hiccup, Denver is 5-0 against them since 1983, including playoff wins on Jan. 10, 1988 and Jan. 4, 1992.
- This will be the Titans' second trip to Denver since moving from Houston, where they were known as the Oilers, in 1997. The Broncos' 17-14 loss in 2011 is their only defeat since the relocation and name change.
