CHICAGO –** The Broncos selected Missouri guard Connor McGovern with the 144th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

McGovern started 40 career games at Missouri and was the Gatorade High School Player of the Year in North Dakota. He put up 33 reps on the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine, the second-most among offensive linemen.

McGovern, who played across the line for the Tigers, will further strengthen a Broncos offensive line that's already added veteran tackles Russell Okung and Donald Stephenson this offseason. He was college teammates with Broncos outside linebacker Shane Ray.

The Broncos next pick is No. 157 overall, pick 20 in the fifth round.
